Formula 1 Souvenirs
I carry all kinds of formula 1 racing souvenirs in the shop though because the idea is to make some money from it after all. I had a new customer come into the store just recently asking for some very special formula 1 racing souvenirs. He wanted in particular Ferrari formula 1 racing souvenirs.
He was looking for two formula 1 racing souvenirs in particular from the Ferrari team the first was a Ferrari track jacket signed by his favorite driver and the other was a track cap. He was willing to pay top dollar for the formula 1 racing souvenirs so I told him that I should be able to track them down before he needed them in a week’s time. I figured they couldn’t be that hard to find.
That was my first mistake. I rang up my friend Fred who was a dealer also because I didn’t have the formula 1 racing souvenirs in stock and asked him. He told me that he didn’t stock Ferrari formula 1 racing souvenirs anymore but he had some new McLaren formula 1 racing souvenirs that he thought I may be interested in. We chatted for a while and Fred promised to send me pictures of the McLaren gear so I could look it over.
As we hung up I looked through my list of contacts trying to think who was most likely to have the Ferrari formula 1 racing souvenirs that I was looking for. Over the next four hours I tried them all and nobody could help me and I sat down afterwards wondering how I was going to find the formula 1 racing souvenirs that I was looking for and then my phone rang.
George was on the phone, one of my formula 1 racing souvenirs contacts and he told me that he knew someone that may be able to help me with the gear that I was looking for, they didn’t have a phone and it was a private collector who may just sell it to me for the right price.
He gave me the address and it was about half an hour away from where I lived so I decided that I would leave it for the next day and head out there early before I was due to open up the shop.
The next morning I drove to the address that George had given me and as the houses gave way to trees and it looked like I was heading into farm country I wondered where George had sent me, I didn’t know of any collectors in this area. I finally found the house I was looking for after a couple of wrong turns and it was a tiny little farmhouse in the middle of a field.
I knocked on the door and a small man, probably in his fifties or so answered and I introduced myself and told him about the formula 1 racing souvenirs that I was looking for. He asked me into the house and I was amazed at all of the formula 1 racing souvenirs that he had. All of them were Ferrari and his walls were covered, the floor, the shelves and there was only a small amount of room to walk through the stacks.
We walked into the living room and he showed me the formula 1 racing souvenirs that I was looking for. I asked him how much would he sell them for and he told me that they were not for sale. My heart sank at that news and then he said but he would swap them for the list of Ferrari formula 1 racing souvenirs that he wrote down for me on a piece of paper, there were 5 things that he wanted and then he would give me the formula 1 racing souvenirs that I was looking for.
He was looking for:
1. F1 World Champions Collectible Ferrari pen.
2. Authentic Ferrari Hilfiger Sweatshirt.
3. Original Puma Ferrari 2010/2011 Fernando Alonso t-shirt.
4. Ferrari Alonso towel.
5. Puma Ferrari Santanderi cap Alonso – Massa
I looked at the list of formula 1 racing souvenirs and I figured they wouldn’t be too hard to find with the contacts I had and I knew that I had at least one of the items, the Ferrari pen, at my shop. So I thanked him and told him I would be back in a few days with the formula 1 racing souvenirs that he wanted and left to head back to my shop.
The pen was in my shop and so was the cap, I just needed to find the other three and I had a few days to do that. Frank had the Hilfiger sweatshirt amongst his formula 1 racing souvenirs and it cost me a bit so I had three of the five formula 1 racing souvenirs that I needed.
Over the next couple of days I found the rest and when my customer came in to pick up his formula 1 racing souvenirs I had the waiting for him and handed them over with a smile.
